went for the tao nan pre-camp over the weekend
and i felt younger since i was surrounded by so many jc people
those were the times man
was slacking for most of the time though
and i'm being stationed at bukit timah nature reserve
which means i'll be feeding the mozzies there for 2 consecutive days, boo
gotta arm myself with Off!
i'm actually looking forward to the actual camp already!
went for yj's sending off party in the evening
felt like such a misfit since i was dressed in odac 21st com singlet and army shorts walking around in orchard! and greg went like "hey jan did you just come from PE lessons?"
and we went to balcony for drinks
like duh, what's new since we have a couple of alcoholics around
and i drank fruit punch there, haha
very anti-climax i know
and while we were waiting for drinks, yj was like giving his farewell speech
when he was delivering his speech, it just felt like we were back in TJ having a meeting, and the boss was delegating jobs to us, the only difference was that the contents were a bit sad and touching
it's true that when the committee was just newly-formed, there were many conflicts within
i think being in house com, it was only natural that politics existed and since because our committee has many people with very strong personalities
truth be told, most of us felt we were pretty screwed up at first
we needed a lot of time to adjust to each other, to complement and to learn to work with each other
even i didn't think at that time that yj would make an effective house captain
who would have known that almost 4 years down the road, since we knew each other as house committee members supporting the same gamma house spirit, that we would go through a lot of stuff together, the good and the bad times, and that the friendships forged amongst us would remain steadfast?
i think after these couple of years, we've grown to love each other more and more : )))
and while we were chilling, everybody had to state a bad memorable experience we had during our term in HC
and most of it was directed at yj, and some were darn freaking funny lahz!
laughed until my stomach was cramping man
and then we had another round where everyone had to describe their most memorable happy experiences
basically we were just reminiscing the good ol' times lahz
titus and greg were damn freaking funny man
i was just laughing like mad
and greg went like "jan is drunk, she's actually laughing at everything titus said" diaoz -_-
before we all went back, yj hugged each and every one of us
it was like he was feeling kinda melancholic that night, maybe partly cos he was having a cough
before i alighted at eunos, he wished me luck and i told him to have fun in the US
he said it wasn't as easy as he thought, saying goodbye to everybody around him
and in greg's words, the "dams in his eyes might be exploding anytime"
we had a very sincere hug and bade each other farewell
quite drama right? he sounded like he was gonna be sent to iraq for 10 years and might never make it back again
but that's the thing with yj lahz
everything about him is pretty much dramatic, nothing less than that, haha
