HP & the deathly hallows
woke up at 6 am to go queue up for the last installment of the harry potter series on sat
drove the car to borders only to find that the whole world was like already queuing up for the book
spent a donkey 2 hours queuing outside borders food-deprived before i actually got my hand on the book and a black balloon which said "i got my harry potter at borders"!
was damn ecstatic!
drove home immediately and started mugging the book

the deathly hallows, i would say, lived up to its hype!
the story was action-packed from start to end! quite unlike the way the story developed for the previous 6 books
along the way, i became sad and depressed whenever somebody was killed
so many people died can???
omg, but the bravery and the qualities portrayed by the characters really touched my heart immensely, especially neville longbottom and ron weasley, who kinda broke out of their shells and did kick some serious asses!
all the mysteries from the previous 6 books were unraveled and absolutely satisfyingly-so
and the complexities and internal struggles of each of the characters were well described by j.k. rowling
especially harry potter
despite the fact that he was supposed to be the hero and everything else, there was still this side of him that's still human in everything he did and everything he thought about
it's damn damn damn bloody exciting
i think i'd never get sick of this book even after the n-th read
oh, i laughed like mad too esp about fred and george
they're like super funny going on the potter-watch thingy
and i would say there were many surprises that i never dreamt about happening
including professor snape and dumbledore etc
although there was a lot revealed about the vulnerabilities and weaknesses of albus dumbledore
i still respect and love him a lot!
and snape's character was complicated and mind-boggling
most of all, i think the theme that centered around the harry potter series rocks
it damn hell reflects a lot about the philosophies and meaning of life and death
and the fears and complications we're facing in our everyday life

the queue at borders was well worth it!
i'll miss harry potter
think rowling should start another series of books
i think she's brilliant to be able to write such a wonderful story : )))

i already can't wait for the movie to come out!

Race 5
helped out for race on the second and third day
station was at punggol jetty on the second day
due to wet weather and insufficient manpower, the activity at punggol jetty was cancelled
so we were just supposed to give them their clue cards and let them go
so boring
the worst thing, i fed the mozzies there the entire afternoon
couldn't believe i actually forgot to arm myself with Off! boo..
it was quite scary initially cos i was at the bus stop alone and by hadn't arrived yet
although i brought along harry potter to entertain myself, i was quite scared cos i kept feeling that there was someone behind who'll suddenly ambush me
and it's quite secluded and there wasn't many people in sight and it was raining quite heavily with all the lightning and stuff

luckily by came after like 30 minutes
and we tried to entertain each other by guessing each other's secondary schools
okay, i know that sounds stupid
but that was how bored we were
but i think i was most entertained by the racers trying to hitch rides
if i had to give out the most entertaining group award, i'll award it to the group who hitch-rode this gardenia bread van
i think we should have recorded the entire process
i really thought it was a delivery van then suddenly got racers jump out of the van and i thought i was hallucinating from being too bored
then they hopped back into the delivery van and zoomed off
damn stylo man

then on the last day, i was stationed at shines outdoors
nice happening station to be at cos got a lot of station masters there
and we were doing the high elements thingy which looked fun
i was the exporter, in charge of cushioning (in ah gong's words) the racers' fall in case they did
anyway i think they're all damn brave
cos i think i would have peed in me pants if i were to go up there
after which we headed to velocity in novena where the final pit-stop was
super happening especially the race 5 jig-saw puzzle
i thought it was pretty zai
the exhibition and the things they set up there was damn professional
they really made it quite big this year
can't understand why they don't channel more resources into oac as well?
oac is also an nus odac event, it's simply illogical
that's the problem with the establishment, i guess
too many policies and crappy visions and what not
so 偏心 *grumbles grumbles*
we could have made it bigger and better for them too
especially with so many capable programmers around
haha okay, enough of my ramblings

off to do my hulas
